I went to a friend's house who isn't a Beatles fan, and she asked me about this record. After research, I told her she had a counterfeit. I have never seen a real one because most of them are counterfeits. Has anyone ever seen or owned a real one?

I have two, one mono (the version without Please Please Me ) and one stereo (with PPM ). I did all the the tests that you find online to see if it's counterfeit, and the stereo failed... miserably. But the mono, which was the way to listen to music then anyway, passed them all! I think I'm fortunate enough to have a real one, and I got it for $2! It's apparently the most counterfeited album of all time so that'd be pretty lucky, but I'm pretty sure it is real!

I have a re-pressing. I don't know for certain that it is, but I'm pretty sure. I haven't done any research whatsoever on this subject, but I have no reason to believe that it's original and the person that gave it to me didn't claim that it was. The fact that I got a record that could potentially be worth thousands of dollars for free seems too good to be true to me. Anyway, I collect records to listen to them, not to make money off of them.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

I had the Stereo version, but it had the same track listing as the Stereophonic version ('Love Me Do ' & 'P.S. I Love You' instead of 'Please Please Me ' & 'Ask Me Why '. To the OP, Ron Nasty's 'It Was 50 Years Ago Today...' thread here http://www.29zaige.icu/f.....o-today-3/ goes into a bit more detail about this album, starting on Page 1 of the thread...:-)
